Minimalism is a design style that emphasizes simplicity and the removal of superfluous elements in one’s own work. It’s applied in art, architecture, print work, and in web design. There is something extraordinary about making something magnificent with limited resources, and in this showcase, you’ll find the work of talented designers that exhibit exemplary use of Minimalism theories applied to web design.
Minimalism has been a very popular website design style for a while now. Some people say it is simply boring and uninteresting because all of the “eye candy” and effects have been removed… I think it is a classy and functional design style that showcases strong typography, good design and layout skills.

Web Design and Development
I have always been a fan of the minimalist style. Sometimes doing less is harder than doing more, but the effect often is quite attractive.
Good picks, though Im not sure I would agree that all fall within this category.

For me, the beauty of great design lies in its simplicity. We love the minimalism of our travel web site and we’re inspired by some of the fantastic designs displayed above. Great collection, love them. Thanks.

A great, well researched article with some outstanding examples of minimal web design. How about minimalism in Flash? I for one love tadaya.net with it’s decoupage feel (nav at it’s bottm).
